Captain Thomas Gunnison has been entrusted with an extremely vital cargo. His commerce ship, the Phantom Hope, is laden with two thousand Henry rifles, weapons that could turn the tide of victory for the Union. Even more important, though, is fifteen million dollars in newly minted double eagles, money the Union needs to finance the war effort.
