Clara Morelli, the owner of a small Sonoma Valley vineyard, and her new lover, wine critic Henri Lamarque, confront an unexpected problem when Bertram Hill, a somewhat shady corporation, makes an offer almost too generous to refuse. But Clara is suspicious of the would-be buyers' motives.
