Description for GREEN HAZARD by Manning Coles:
Tommy Hambledon, who thought that he could never return to Nazi Germany again after his last narrow escape from the country, and who was planning to do his spying in Switzerland for the duration of the war, finds himself much against his will the honored guest of the unsuspecting Third Reich. It all starts with a chemical explosion in which Hambledon is reported killed (and mourned by the harassed British Foreign Office), while the famous chemist Professor Ulseth, also reported dead, turns up in Berlin on the "invitation" of the Nazi leaders. Then reports come through from agents in Germany that the professor's fingerprints are those of Hambledon, and it seems that the great professor is buying introductory chemistry books. Tommy has once again gotten himself into an impossible situation. Playing with explosives and the uncertain tempers of Messrs. Goebbels and Goering, he works himself in---and out---of one hair-raising predicament after another, preserving his wits and his sense of humor while he undermines the enemy.
