In A Heartbeat

Description for IN A HEARTBEAT by Eric Stone:

Detective John Carnes is a veteran homicide cop, but he has never seen a murder of such brutality.  A young woman on a bed.  A work of rage, mutilation, and finally strangulation.  The kind of murder you want someone to pay for.

But just as he begins to build a case, another young woman is found dead.  There is no doubt that it is the work of the same person.  Now Carnes and the people he cares for---from his partner to his daughter to his new lover---are about to be plunged into a world of true fear, of true obsession.  A world where Carnes himself will come face-to-face with his own dark compulsions…
