In MICROWAVE COOKING MADE EASY we describe microwave cooking in 10 simple, related steps and give basic rules to follow for cooking all different types of food in the microwave oven. The microwave oven as it is most often used today was introduced in the late 1960s as a portable microwave cooking unit with a single power level. Since that time microwave oven manufacturers have added many features and changes, so that today's ovens will likely have two or more power level settings and may have temperature probes, browning elements, and numerous other features from which to choose. At this time these are available to microwave oven owners---but many more special features are being designed by the microwave oven manufacturers.
