Interstellar Pilot Gil Corbett faces financial ruin in his trading ventures because of the strong laws implemented by the powerful Federation of Inner Systems.  His situation is complicated when his brother disappears in a dark star system called " The Brothers".

Then the rulers of The Brothers offer Gil a proposition that he must accept:  to transport an ultra-valuable shipment into treacherous space.  He takes on the mission, knowing full well that the woman he loves will soon be the ruler of The Brothers' rival star system.

Soon, Gil discovers the truth about his Brother's disappearance, and begins a space voyage that threatens to spark interstellar war!
