Strange things are happening in Sugarcreek, from stampeding pigs to barn explosions! Some locals place the blame on a new family in town, the Patels, originally from India.

A few members of the community, in particular, are not happy about these newcomers -- from the local diner owner whose business is threatened by the new competition to an odd, wet-behind-the-ears local reporter, to the owner of a local car dealership who is intent on breaking off his teenage son's budding romance with the Patels' daughter. Could one of them actually be the perpetrator of these crimes and mishaps? Or is it someone even Cheryl doesn't suspect?

She and Naomi must work together to stop the spread of suspicion and mistrust that threatens to pit neighbor against neighbor and to reinforce the Golden Rule -- that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves.
