Richard Kimble. Vascular surgeon.  Tried and convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of his wife.  Given a chance to escape, he take it.  And becomes a man on the run.

Chasing Kimble is Samuel Gerard.  Deputy U.S. Marshal.  A cop who doesn't give a damn if a convict says he's innocent.  He has his job to do:  to bring an escaped man to justice, alive.  or dead.
