The Golden Exile

Because the Lord Abbot agreed only too enthusiastically, young Guy de Brunne soon found himself aboard ship, bound for Jerusalem.

So began the golden exile which took Guy as far afield as the streaming jungle of Cambodia, in the company of friends as strangely assorted as the saint like Mahatma and the grandiose Spanish mountebank, Arnaldus of Villanova. Before Guy could return to England he had been cast adrift at sea as a leper, rescued by an Arab trader, seduced by a dissolute High Priestess, worshiped as the great white god Sveta, and had escaped with a lovely little temple dancer from the murderous wrath of a High Priest...
