Donna Hicken thought she knew exactly where her life was going. A type "A" personality, she had success planned down to the last detail. But a breast cancer diagnosis in 1999 and a recurrence in 2002 changed all that. In a candid, courageous and humorous account, Donna takes us from that second devastating diagnosis through a process that would transform her life.

The love and support she received from thousands of news viewers through her online cancer journal prompted her to start The Donna Hicken Foundation, a 501C3 charitable organization which offers financial and emotional help for women on the First Coast living with breast cancer.

This book chronicles the events reflected in her journal. but it's not a book just about her. "It's a love story," she says, "The best kind of love story."

It is about the communion between people, how one life touches another, then another. It contains the stories of other cancer survivors and people who touched Donna's life as she struggled publicly with what every cancer patients fears privately.

Most of all, this book is about hope and how we give it to each other. It gives voice to anyone who has ever had cancer or been touched by it.
