Princess Tanafriti, beloved daughter of Pharaoh Merenptah of Egypt, awoke one morning to find her life of privilege did not come without a price. She was to become the bride of the king of Israel and journey to Jerusalem with personal maids and guardsmen in tow, including her true love, the captain of the royal guard. The transition is not an easy one, as there are forces in both kingdoms who consider such a wedding blasphemous to the gods.

Through it all, a remarkable journey awaits the lives of all as an ultimate plan from a higher power strategically makes its way into two kingdoms and two hearts vying for power and romance.

Tana's son, Baraka, and an Israelite friend, Dov, are charged with returning the only remaining copies of Solomon's writings given to his mother, to the Temple in Jerusalem. Baraka, perhaps now the sole heir to the throne of Egypt, travels with his father through Egypt's deserts in search of Tana's brother Seti, missing for fifteen years.
