The original edition of "War Since 1945" was published in Britain in 1980 and in the USA in 1981. It described most of the wars which had taken place in the world since 1945 and this new edition brings the book up to date by the addition of a chapter covering the Falkland Islands campaign in 1982. These wars were very different in scale, length, and savagery. But in each one, the author traces the interaction of military and political events and shows how the military tide turned.
