RUN FOR THE MONEY
Investigative journalist Dana Sloan is shopping at a convenience store when fellow customer Jake Carlson insists his wife, Beth, is missing. A search of the store turns up nothing, but how could a pretty, visibly pregnant woman just disappear? Dana is alarmed; Jake has a bad reputation and mob ties, and she thinks Beth is in trouble.
When Jake later confesses to killing his wife, Dana isn't buying it. She suspects Beth is alive and on the run with a pile of mob money. Murder, stolen identities and long-kept secrets are exposed, and Dana's own life is threatened as she attempts to uncover the shocking truth. Now Dana is racing across the country, dead bodies in her wake, to get to Beth before the mob does. And, with luck, stay alive in the process.
This is #3 in A Dana Sloan Mystery.
